Hernia repairs utilizing the Robotic ETEP approach.
These hernias were repaired utilizing the robotic enhanced view totally extra peritoneal (ETEP) approach, which allows the large, disfiguring hernias to be repaired with a minimally invasive technique. In the past these hernias were repaired with a large open incision, which required a 5-7 day hospitalization and drain placement. With the robotic ETEP approach, most patients are able to go home the day after surgery without drains in place.
